On Tuesday, March 17, Prof. Atsuko Maekawa, former professor at Nagoya University and currently a professor at Yokkaichi Nursing and Medical Care University, and Mr. Makoto Ichida from I-Medics Co., Ltd. visited our university.

On that day, they delivered a lecture and demonstration on intestinal electrical signals, which link intestinal function assessment to bowel care support, with the aim of identifying the timing of defecation in patients with bowel dysfunction or difficulty with defecation.

This lecture provided a valuable opportunity to deepen our understanding of new assessment methods and support approaches in bowel care. We will apply the knowledge gained from this experience to our future research activities and strive for further advancement.
